Prof. K. H. Chu received his bachelor degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1976 and completed his Ph.D study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program in Oceanography in 1984. He is now a professor at the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and was the founding Director of the school. He is also an outstanding fellow of the Faculty of Science, and associate head of the New Asia College of the University. Prof. Chu has diverse interests in marine science and published over 190 papers. His primary research focus is molecular systematics and ecology of crustaceans, covering phylogenetics and population genetics, biodiversity conservation, and marine phylogeography of the Indo-West Pacific. He serves as associate editor for three international journals.

Dr. Ernesto A. Chavez is the Professor of the Marine Sciences Research Centre of the Polytechnic Institute in La Paz, Mexico. Research interests, Bio economic assessment of fisheries by simulation, Impact of climate on fisheries, Coral reef ecology. He is teacher of the courses Fisheries simulation, Fisheries Management and Coral reef Ecology at the graduate program of his research Centre. Has been adviser of 25 M Sc thesis B Sc, 16 at the M Sc Program and 5 at Ph D level. He has led 17 research projects and has collaborated on another 16. He has published more than 150 scientific papers, including the co-edition of a book on the coral reefs of the south Gulf of Mexico (2007), translated into Spanish (2010).

Dr. Marie Clément is a research scientist with the Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research at the Marine Institute of Memorial University. Since 2012, she is stationed at the Labrador Institute of Memorial University (Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador) and developing aquatic research projects in a northern context. Prior to joining Memorial University, Marie received her PhD from the University of Guelph and worked for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans from 2001 to 2012, where she studied the effects of anthropogenic activities on riverine habitat and fish populations as well as the efficiency of mitigation measures (e.g., peatland exploitation, timber harvesting, dam removal and fishways passage efficiency). She also investigated migration patterns of American eel between saline summer feeding grounds to freshwater overwintering. Since 2012, Marie has developed an Aquatic Research Program to address knowledge gaps with respect to fish populations in Labrador. The overall objectives of her research program are to: 1) generate scientific information to assist in conservation, fisheries management and food security in Labrador; 2) create training opportunities for Highly Qualified Personal; 3) promote community-building capacity; and 4) educate the public about aquatic science, fisheries management and conservation.

Dr. K. Pani Prasad has 22 years of experience as a researcher, scientist and extension worker in areas of aquatic animal health. Developed different immunodiagnostic kits and molecular techniques for detection of bacterial and viarl diaseses of finfish and shellfish. Worked as a National Consultant for an FAO, Rome and Dept. of Fisheries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India project. Presently, working in the aquatic diasese surveillance project funded by Government of India, regularly and regularly monitor the shrimp farms for viruses, bacteria and other disease causing agents. The expertise extends to train the farmers, teachers and students on different aspects of health management and conducted a number of on hands training programs. The experience gained helped me in guiding 50 masters and 10 Ph.D students in different areas of health management. Published around 75 research publications in International and National journals with high impact factor.
