Biography
Olaf Jensen is a Danish medical doctor, specialist in occupational and environmental medicine and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Aarhus. He has since 1992 been a scientist at the Center for Maritime Health and Society (CMSS), Department of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark. Now he is a senior researcher on part-time. His research includes several epidemiological studies on occupational injuries, working environment and health among seafarers and fishermen. He is the author of numerous international and national scientific publications; now mainly in international research collaboration.

Biography
Joel Carlin has spent 15 years in fisheries and conservation science education. He believes that conferences such as Fisheries 2016 can and should play an integral role in bringing marine environmental issues to inland voters and consumers. Joel is currently interested in the biological impacts of petroleum drilling and spills upon marine genetic diversity. He has investigated genetic diversity of nongame aquatic species, particularly marine benthopelagics and freshwater sculpins. Joel has led environmental education trips in Ecuador, Mexico, China, and Malaysia, and currently serves as Biology chair at Gustavus Adolphus College, a small private liberal arts college in Minnesota.
